5 steps to thrive in times of change by learning to trust, surrender, and flow with life.
A dear friend recently told me she thinks she has PTSD from the past few years.
I smiled softly and said, “Yes. I think we all do.”
We’re living with a kind of collective PTSD — a lingering restlessness, agitation, and discomfort when things feel out of our control.
For me, it often shows up when I sit in the passenger seat of a car.
When someone else is driving and they’re going too fast, too slow, braking too late. I feel my body tense. I judge. I give advice. I can’t relax. I think, “No! This is how you’re supposed to drive!”
And then it hit me - this is exactly what we’re all doing in life right now.
We’re trying to take back control because we’ve lost trust.
We’ve been through trauma, uncertainty, and a collective shaking of the ground beneath us. The mind, which equates control with safety, is doing what it knows best: trying to drive again.
But this is not a time for control.
It’s a time for trust.
A time to learn how to let go of the wheel.
As the song says: “Jesus take the wheel.”
When life feels too big, too much, too uncertain... that’s not the time to grip tighter. It’s the invitation to SURRENDER. To LET GOD.
To trust the unseen intelligence that is always guiding us.
The Evolution of Consciousness
At one time, life was simply happening to us.
We were victims of circumstance, reacting and surviving.
Then we awakened to realize that life was happening for us — and we took the wheel. We learned to drive with intention, to manifest, to steer our lives with consciousness and purpose.
And that worked beautifully... until it didn’t.
Then came lockdowns. Uncertainty. Fear. Loss of freedom. A sense that everything was spinning beyond our control.
Many of us reverted to old victim patterns because, honestly, they felt familiar. But deep inside, we knew we’d outgrown them. The inner conflict was painful; the part that wanted control wrestling with the part that longed for peace.
Now, something entirely new is being birthed.
A third level of consciousness:
Where life doesn’t happen to us, or for us —
but through us.
And this level requires surrender.
The Seat of the Soul
This is what it means to sit in the passenger seat of life — what I call the Seat of the Soul.
It’s uncomfortable at first. You’ll still shout directions to the driver. You’ll still clench your fists, hoping things slow down or speed up.
But eventually, you begin to realize…
You’re not unsafe.
You’re simply unused to trusting the flow.
And that’s the spiritual lesson of our times.
Now is the time to stop fighting the current and start floating with it.
To release control, to relax into Divine guidance, to remember that love — not fear — is the true driver of your life.
The 5 Steps to Thrive in the Passenger Seat of Life
When I fully surrendered, I received these 5 simple steps: A roadmap for how to live and thrive in this new paradigm of consciousness:
1. Embrace Your Humanness
Stop trying to be “above” your emotions or perfect in your spirituality. Feel it all. You are beautifully, divinely human.
2. Be the Change
You can’t force the world to evolve, but you can embody the vibration of love, peace, and compassion — and let that ripple outward.
3. Stay Open
When life surprises you, instead of resisting, stay curious. The unknown is not the enemy; it’s the portal to your next level.
4. Let Go and Let God
You are not meant to carry it all. Release your grip, and let Divine Love lead.
5. Say YES to What Presents
Even when it doesn’t look the way you hoped, trust that life is supporting your evolution. Say yes, and let grace unfold.
The New Paradigm
This is the new level of consciousness we are all being invited into — a life lived through trust, not control.
You still get to place your order or to declare your intentions, desires, and dreams. But then, you let the Universe choose the route.
You’ll arrive when you’re meant to.
And the journey itself will shape you in all the ways your soul came here to grow.
So take a deep breath.
Loosen your grip.
Sit back in the passenger seat.
And enjoy the ride.
If you’re ready to reclaim your inner peace and learn to thrive in this next level of love and consciousness, I'm here for you!
